As MCT, I have a developer tenant for Office 365, and this year we are finally getting access to the Microsoft 365 function, i.e. Enterprise Mobility and Security. The disadvantage is that a new tenant is required and so a migration is pending. But at the same time, a lot of things have to be set up from scratch. I take the opportunity to write a series of blog posts directly from this.
Office 365
Which Office version works with Windows 10?
Often the question arises during a rollout: Is our Microsoft Office version still supported with Microsoft Windows 10? The first glance should always be at the current lifecycle of Microsoft Office. You can also find a nice overview in my article “Product Lifecycles – The Forgotten Being“. Depending on the remaining time of the life cycle of the Office program, a migration with Windows 10 can also be useful.
Creating Users Easily with PowerShell
As most people know, I like to make my life easy at work. That doesn’t mean I’m afraid of work, I just like to automate or simplify it where I can. I like to use PowerShell for this.
Another reason besides the convenience or lack of time why you should solve tasks through scripts is a consistent level of quality. Let’s face it, who doesn’t know this, even if there are checklists, you might forget one step when you get distracted.
Microsoft Azure AD – the license types and functions
Welcome to part 2 of the Azure-AD series. This part covers license types and features. We will also deal with the topic of license procurement and licensing possibilities. Due to the scope of functions, I cannot describe all functions contained in the individual licenses in this article. But I try to cover as much as possible and to provide links to further information.
The Microsoft Cloud and Data Protection
Since the GDPR / DSVGO introduction, the topic of data protection, privacy and compliance is still a topic with which many lawyers still earn money. The problem, in my opinion, the technical reality distance with that the whole was designed. Not to be kept silent of the fact that the exceptions to the law were not delivered equally. But all this does not help us, we have to follow it. But I would not like to hold up you too much with my personal opinion to the GDPR. We look at ourselves what Microsoft offers us at tools.
Ignite day 2 – Modern Management recap
Today was day 2 of the Microsoft Ignite in Orlando. Today I was in the focus in sessions about modern management on the move. That means, for example, Microsoft Intune, but especially the newly announced function of the “Microsoft Endpoint Manager”.
Choosing the correct Windows 10 Edition
Choosing the right edition of Windows 10 can sometimes be harder than you think for companies. For most companies, the cost versus functionality is a consideration. But which versions are there? More than one actually thinks:
Unattended installation of software
Unattended software installation is standard in many environments. But how does it work? With an MSI it’s easy, but not everything is available as an MSI package. But many applications bring their own methods. Since I often need this, here is a small collection for the more important programs.
Administrative templates in Intune – incl. list
In January 2019 I reported about the preview of the administrative templates in Intune. Now it’s time to see what happened. Meanwhile, the function is no longer in the preview phase and it has grown too.
Unattended installation of software
Unattended software installation, also called unattendent installation, is standard in many environments. But how does it work? It is easy with an MSI, but not everything is available as an MSI package. Many applications come with their own methods. Since I also need this from time to time, here is a small collection for the programmes that are more important to me.
