GUID List of Group Policy Client Extensions

Microsoft uses GUIDs in the error messages for the GPO Client Side Extension (CSE). If you have to analyze group policies regularly and find the errors, you might want to have a list. Since it works the same way for me, I started to collect. Here is my current status, I hope it helps you.

Who still knows some, which are missing here, please write me a message.

And this also applies to error analysis and correction:

Note on modifications to Group Policy

Before any changes are made to the GPOs, a backup should be made. If you don’t always want to back up the whole domain controller, or if you are using special software like the AGMT or corresponding data backup solutions, I can help you. In the article “How to back up and document group policies correctly” I present you a PowerShell script from me, with a download link in the Microsoft TechNet Gallery. The GPO Central Store should also be secured. A simple copy of the folder will do.

This article first appeared on Infrastrukturhelden.de in German.

This article is a translation of the Infrastrukturhelden.de article “GUID Liste der Gruppenrichtlinien Client Erweiterungen” (Published – 2019-04-30). Links may refer to other Infrastrukturhelden.de articles, these may also be available in English language.

Also it can be, that I still use screenshots of German systems. However, where it is possible for me with little effort, I insert screenshots of English systems.
